Mi PRÓLOGO de #NiLocasNiSolas en Literal Magazine

Posted on July 11, 2023 by mariaminguezarias

This is tomorrow! Join us! The SF launch of “Naming the Body: A Queer Woman’s Restorative Mapping of the Self” (@mouthfeelpress, 2026) along fierce collaborators @liliana_hueso_photographer 🔥 and @maribel.martinezx 🔥. So grateful for their generosity and vission, the @sfpubliclibrary, and the Hormel LGBTQIA Center for hosting. San Francisco has my heart and now will have my writing as well 🥹🌸🙏🏼📚. Graciasss ❤️ Love your bookstore keepers. They hold the key to magical spaces 📚🌸❤️. These are mine at @banterbookshop. Yesterday they hosted the launch of “Naming the Body: A Queer Woman’s Restorative Mapping of the self” (@mouthfeelpress, 2026), gifted me a beautiful orchid, and made this awesome video. Gracias 😍 Well, @banterbookshop put together a lovely setting and family, friends, and new faces from the community showed up. That was truly special. I felt at home, because I was 🫣. It was magical to finally be able to share “Naming the Body: A Queer Woman’s Restorative Mapping of the Self” (@mouthfeelpress, 2026) with my English speaking community. Books sold out 🫢. Thank you! Gracias! Obrigada! Me voy a dormir con el corazón colmado ❤️🥹 Join me this Thursday for the launch of “Naming the Body: A Queer Woman’s Restorative Mapping of the Self” (@mouthfeelpress, 2026) at our beloved local bookstore @banterbookshop: A proud moment for me. This is the community that became my home in the United States; the community where my partner and I raised our family; our community of family, friends, and neighbors. There’s been a lot of love, support, and respect; and there’s been prejudice and hypocrisy (there is always prejudice and hypocrisy!) Our local queer author meet and greet was fun. We signed books, chat with new readers, and I got to meet talented @antinostalgicart, @nidhiart, and @marinaomiart! A lot going on outside in the 3rd Fremont Pride Fair. Even Subieta got her own parking spot 😌. Thank you @fremont_ca and @aclibrary for including “Naming the Body: A Queer Woman’s Restorative Mapping of the Self” (@mouthfeelpress, 2026) in your Pride programming ❤️. My city of @fremont_ca and our local library @aclibrary are celebrating PRIDE this coming Sat., June 13th from 10am to 2pm with A PRIDE FAIR! I will be there along with other local queer authors for a meet and book signing with my “Naming the Body: A Queer Woman’s Restorative Mapping of the Self” (@mouthfeelpress 2026). So proud of having chosen Fremont as the city to raise our queer family! ❤️📚💪🏼 AND there will be free books! Oh my! 🫢 I see the PINK TRIANGLE on my way to work 🥹. What can I say, this city has my heart! ❤️ ¡Viva el Pride! And just like that, a 5th event was added to our “Naming the Body: A Queer Woman’s Restorative Mapping of the Self” (@mouthfeelpress, 2026) June book tour. Thank you @auntlute and @sistahscifi for opening your space! 🥹🙏🏼❤️ Tomorrow is my birthday 🥳! If 12 year old María could meet 56 year old María, what would they talk about? Oh, wait! They did meet, talked at length and a book was born: “Naming the Body: A Queer Woman’s Restorative Mapping of the Self” (@mouthfeelpress, 2026) 🤗❤️. These two Marías have so much love, compassion, and respect for each other 🥹🙏🏼. ¡Feliz cumpleaños Marías!
